Gas Saver - Buying a Hydrogen Booster vs. a Prius : New honda civic hybrid car 2009
by Haden Freed
So, you’re about to purchase a new Prius because it’s a hybrid gas saver - maybe you’ve never even heard of a hydrogen booster. A new Prius hybrid sounds like a great plan because of all the money you’ll be saving on gas, right? Hey, we aren’t here to judge, but did you know the Prius has gone over 60,000 vehicles sold? This is great news for the car manufacturer, but bad news for you. Why? Well, unfortunately, once they reached this mark that energy tax credit you were hoping for just went out the window.Hey, we aren’t trying to burst anyone’s bubble. We just like you to know some things that others may not like to tell you about a gas saver. The point is there are several individuals wanting to purchase a Prius based on the tax benefit because when they got that return, guess where it would have gone? Yep, towards those ridiculously large car payments. One of the biggest downfalls to purchasing a new hybrid vehicle like the Prius is the cost.
In order to save money at the pump, you have to shell out thousands of dollars. This means it will take years to actually get any savings at all, especially if you are paying interest on the payments. Then there are those of us who don’t have the money to be spending on a brand new fuel saver car. With the economy the way it is right now, who wants to keep spending money? Even the economic stimulus checks were a stalling tactic. All we can say is it’s time to take matters into your own hands and look at the alternatives.
A year ago, a hydrogen booster diy fuel saver was just another thing on the internet trying to compete with everyone else. No one seemed too interested because eventually the cost of gas would go down as the war in Iraq continued. To everyone’s surprise, gas kept rising and is now hitting the $4 a gallon plateau all around the country. Since October of 2007, the demand for gas saver hydrogen boosters has been enormous. We imagine in the months to come it will only get bigger.
However, millions of people still aren’t aware of how a hydrogen booster can change your lifestyle. Instead of working to pay for gas, why not go back to paying for gas so you can get to work? Get the tax breaks you’ve been looking for by installing a hydrogen booster. Just for hooking this up to your vehicle, you’ll receive a $2,000 IRS break for using a clean burning automobile. According to one hydrogen booster website, larger vehicles like buses can claim up to $50,000. Then you would be able to go out and buy that Prius right?
The question is whether or not you want to spend years trying to recoup your investments purchasing a new Prius hybrid. We came across an interesting piece that said you would have to drive almost 47,000 miles just to start seeing savings on gas, based on average driving. Not sure if you want to spend the time doing that considering there is another gas saver option where you can save money right now. Whatever you decide to do, we hope this article has at least given you some options you were unaware of before.

Safest Honda and Acura Vehicles for 2008
by Anthony Fontanelle
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recently released its list of Top Safety Pick awardees for 2008. A total of seven Honda and Acura models earned the title, including the all-new 2008 Honda Accord.
The Top Safety Pick award recognizes vehicles that perform best in providing protection to passengers in the front, side and rear crash test evaluations of the IIHS. The test only considers the vehicles equipped with electronic stability control (named as Vehicle Stability Assist on Honda and Acura vehicles) and head protection airbags.
The award was granted to 2008 Accord, CR-V, Element, Odyssey and Pilot, under Honda Division. For the Acura Division, on the other hand, the award was given to 2008 MDX and RDX, which come with premium Acura air filter and other genuine parts. These Honda and Acura vehicles gained most of the industry’s Top Safety Pick awards, accounting vehicles that have both the electronic stability control and the head protection airbags as standard equipment.
All the 2008 model year vehicles from Honda and Acura that achieved the Top Safety Pick award is estimated to cover about two-thirds of the company’s sales volume. Based on industry sales projections, it has exceeded 1 million vehicles, more than any other automaker.
According to Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., “Honda has consistently challenged itself to pursue vehicle safety as part of its core business strategy… American Honda will put more Top Safety Pick-rated vehicles on the road next year than any other automaker.â€
Honda is in goal to provide a high level of occupant protection as well as pedestrian injury mitigation through all of its cars and trucks, with the use of comprehensive and evolving approach to vehicle safety. It is an effort introduced in 2003, honoring the company’s “Safety for Everyone†initiative. This process has provided benefits to all new Honda and Acura vehicles, regardless of size and price. The company has also considered increasing compatibility with other types of vehicles in a frontal collision.
Among Honda models awarded, 2008 Honda Accord stood out more than any other Top Safety Pick vehicles. The vehicle has a projected annual sales volume of about 400,000 units.
Each Accord comes with newly-designed side-curtain airbags and dual-chamber, front-side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS). The model is also equipped with active front seat head restraints designed to help reduce the severity of neck injury in a rear collision.
The new Accord is found to be highly efficient in absorbing the energy of a frontal crash, thanks to the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure provided in the front of the vehicle. The technology could even help minimize the risk of under-ride or over-ride situations that may occur during head-on or offset-frontal impacts with a larger or smaller vehicle.
The 2008 Accord has been sustained with several standard features, including the Vehicle Stability Assist and an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with brake assist. The new Accord also comes with dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags, front seatbelts with automatic-tensioning systems and load limiters, and a pedestrian injury mitigation design in the front of the vehicle. There are also Driver and front passenger seatbelt reminders and daytime running lights, among standard equipments.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2008 Accord Sedan a five-star frontal crash safety rating for both the driver and front passenger.
Honda Motor Corp. has been operating two of the world’s most sophisticated crash test laboratories in the development of improved safety designs and technologies. For the past years, the company has been active in conducting tests to optimize the efficiency of their vehicles in providing safety to drivers and passengers.

BMW and Honda top the quality list
by Anthony Fontanelle
In South Africa, quality of new vehicles is deteriorating despite the decrease in the number of problems encountered by car owners in every 100 vehicle of a certain model according to data revealed by J.D. Power and Associates. J.D. Power and Associates is a leading authority in vehicle quality analysis in the global automotive industry. Yesterday, the firm’s initial quality study revealed that the average problem per 100 vehicle complained by owners climbed to 245 problems compared to last year’s 239 problems. The results were based to the responses made by a total of 8,600 new vehicle owners who purchased their vehicles for the first five months for this year. The problems cited by the subjects are those they encountered during the first three to seven months of ownership. Ideally, this period, the vehicle should be at its best driving condition since they are fresh from showrooms and dealerships. J.D. Power and Associates discovered a total of 228 individual problems across nine categories. The vehicles that gained the lowest scores reflected fewer problems, therefore, of better quality than those with higher scores. This year, BMW replaced Honda as the highest ranking vehicle brand in South Africa. BMW totaled 142 problems per 100 vehicles. Honda which makes quality Acura CL brake dust shields follows the German brand. Third, fourth and fifth are Subaru, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo respectively. In 2006, the honorific five is comprised by Honda with reported 150 problems followed by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru, Audi and Hyundai. The car with the lowest problem in the industry is the Honda Jazz belonging in the small car segment. Honda’s little vehicle consistently received an award for four consecutive years. Out of the five worst performing cars in the study, four were also ranked lowest last year. This year’s five vehicles with the most problems are shamefully carrying the brands of Tata with a total of 567 followed by Volkswagen, Fiat, Opel and Renault. JD Power and Associates Vice-President Brian Walters commented that BMW had made significant improvements in its vehicles thus climbing from the third post in 2005 and on top this year. The Mercedes-Benz East London passenger vehicle assembly plant that produces the Mercedes-Benz C-Class leads other South African plants in initial quality, with 103 problems per 100 vehicles. “The Mercedes-Benz East London plant was recently retooled to produce left-hand drive vehicles, which are exported to the US. It is particularly impressive that this plant, in the face of major changes to its production line, has been able to produce vehicles of such outstanding quality,” said Walters.

Hybrid Cars Reduce Noise Pollution? : New Honda new hybrid cars 2008
by Steve Longoria
Hybrid cars are becoming quite popular in recent times mainly due to the savings that they bring in fuel costs and also the fact that hybrid cars reduce emit less pollution and are therefore are better for the environment than cars that run on petroleum based fuel. One other reason that hybrid cars are becoming popular is that they also reduce noise pollution.Have you ever gone on a trip to the country and listened to the birds chirping and water trickling down a creek close by? If you have then you have probably also sat there enjoying the sounds of nature and thinking how nice it would be if it were always that peaceful.
Unfortunately these days the world is so busy and so noisy and so stressful. If you live in a city or suburbs you will hear constant traffic noises and the peaceful sounds of nature are usually nowhere to be found. Along with the financial benefits and the benefits to air pollution, the hybrid car also brings with it the benefit of reducing noise pollution. The hybrid car that runs on an electric motor, winds its way through traffic creating hardly any noise. How good would it be if all cars were that quiet and the busy hustle and bustle sounds of traffic became a thing of the past?
The one concern with the hybrid car and its reduced noise is that it is so quiet that you can hardly hear it coming. This has become a concern for some people and in particular a concern for blind people who rely on noise to hear a car coming.
With cars that are so quiet, blind people need to be even more cautious when crossing roads. Most traffic lights do have beeping equipment for the blind and many blind people do have guide dogs with them and if they do take that extra caution when crossing roads they should be fine.
The question has been asked though, for safety reasons should the hybrid car perhaps have a sound of its own so that a blind person can distinguish the sound of the car coming? Should hybrid cars have a minimum noise standard that they should meet?
The noise doesn’t have to be loud but just something distinctive enough to make them safer for pedestrians would be good.
The quietness of the hybrid is very welcomed by many people however as the new peaceful sound of the motor world. So if you hate traffic noise perhaps you should look into a hybrid car and help reduce noise pollution.

Honda Siel Cars India to Locally Produce Honda CR-Vs
by Anthony Fontanelle
Honda’s subsidiary in India, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) with plant located at the Greater Noida near Delhi is considering manufacturing the CR-V.
Currently, the CR-V Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is imported from Japan and distributed in the Indian market. According to Masahiro Takedagawa, President and CEO of HSCI in an interview with DNA Money said, “We are studying the possibilities of producing the CR-V locally, which will help us become a far more active player in the growing SUV market.”
Around 300 units of CR-V are sold in India every month and priced at Rs 20 lakh. Nearly half of this figure is comprised of import duty components. And just in case Honda would finally decide to manufacture the CR-V locally, price would likely go down to Rs 12-14 lakh which will surely entice customers.
In the top-end SUV segment, CR-V is the lead player along with Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Endeavour, Suzuki Vitara and other models of which mostly are directly imported.
The advantage of local production is that more CR-Vs will be produce and aside from that HSCI also believes that there is a potential to increase market share once the vehicle built a strong brand image in the market.
Mr. Takedagawa also said that the company is hoping to produce around 68,000 units comprising of Civic, City, and Accord. HSCI has announced that it intends to manufacture over 150,000 cars by 2010 which is the same year when annual car production in the country is expected to reach 2.5 million units. Mr. Takedagawa also said that the company is really serious in its desire to increase its overall market share in India. The company is hoping to close this fiscal with the production of around 68,000 units consisting of the Civic, Accord, and City.
In addition, Mr. Takedagawa mentioned that the company will introduce a new hatchback which it plans of introducing in a couple of years and will play an important role in the sales growth that Honda the producer of high quality Acura CL catalytic ( Site:car-stuff.com/mmparts/acura-cl/catalytic_converter.html) is expecting in the future. The car is said to be a derivative of the Jazz and is scheduled to be produced at the second plant in Rajasthan.
This new plant is different from the one at Greater Noida where body panels are imported but this will not be the case with the plant in Rajasthan where a stamping facility is being installed specifically for this purpose.
There are also plans of producing locally important engine parts to keep costs low and at the same time to increase production volumes.

Thanks to Water4Gas dot com, you can do this with simple tools and materials available from your local hardware store. Rather than struggle to make ends meet with higher than ever energy prices, why not convert your car to run on water. Gas and oil prices have been skyrocketing like crazy for the last two years; it is time to discover alternative energy.
Below are some of the benefits you will get from Water4Gas dot com;
* Protect the environment * Decreased engine temperatures * Longer life expectancy of your motor * Get a tax credit for converting your car to use alternative energy * Engine runs quieter * Less pollution * Increase fuel mileage
How does it work? Hydrogen, the most basic and abundant object in the known universe. This is what makes the Water4Gas dot com system different. Hydrogen is compressed in water and can be easily removed with electricity from the battery in your automobile. It is safe because it only creates hydrogen as it is used, so it is never stored.
You can buy other systems on eBay for more than $1000, or you can make your own in a few hours for under $60 with the help of Water4Gas dot com. You no longer have to wait for your local car dealer to offer alternative energy vehicles; you can use your present vehicle and convert it into a water gas hybrid. Water4Gas dot com will be with you step by step through the entire process. Not only will you get instructions, illustrations, and a video series to help you, but you will be able to contact an entire network of people who have already installed this technology, and are willing to help.

Trying to Sort Out the Confusing Names and Product Lines of Hyundai & Honda
by Terry Bolton
Once thought of as an italic logo rip-off company of Honda, Hyundai is now beginning to establish its own reputation as a quality car company. Using the image of Honda as the provider of the most reliable vehicles, Hyundai has since styled its own reputation for reliability. Hyundai has become a serious competitor in the American car marketplace. In recent years, Hyundai has even begun appearing with Honda in the top ranks of customer satisfaction surveys. Hyundai & Honda seem to be forever intertwined in similarity since Hyundai struck the American marketplace. How has Hyundai done it?Constant Investment in the FutureFrom the beginning, Hyundai has had a large budget for innovation and improvement in their products. They find out what customers and non-customers find most dissatisfying about their cars and make planning decisions to attempt to fix their designs so that all of those people will be potential customers in the future.2006 Hyundai & Honda: The First Real Quality ChallengeIn 2006, Hyundai first showed itself to be more than a cheap car rip-off of the Honda brand. The release of the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon to compete with the 2006 Honda Civic sent shocks through the imported automobile industry. The 2006 Hyundai Tiburon cost about $4,000 less than the 2006 Honda Civic, even though the Hyundai Tiburon came standard with more features than the Honda Civic. Additionally, the Hyundai Tiburon had tinted glass, heated exterior mirrors, and performed at 2 MPG better than the Civic.2007 Hyundai & Honda: Small Car ShowdownIn 2007, Hyundai made waves by filling its Elantra full of features at less money than the Civic with only the most basic features. Such features as radio controls in the steering wheel, built-in Bluetooth connectivity, and XM satellite radio options were built into the Elantra. Even more impressive was the way Hyundai & Honda differed in warranty. Hyundai showed so much confidence in its Elantras to provide a five-year, 60,000 mile warranty, while the Civic only had a basic three-year, 36,000 mile warranty. Many also reported increased satisfaction with the new seating comfort and space for back-seat passengers.4) 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GS vs 2006 Honda Civic Si 6-Spd MTOne of the first glaring differences between the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon and the 2006 Honda Civic is the price tag, where the Tiburon costs about $4,000 less at $16,095. Both vehicles offer access to a standard CD player, yet consumers have the option to also enjoy a cassette player in the Hyundai. While halogen headlights come standard on both cars, the Hyundai provides standard fog lights while Honda only offers this as an extra option. Other features of the Hyundai Tiburon that have impressed buyers include heated exterior mirrors, tinted glass, and 24 MPG (compared to 22 MPG with the Honda).Overall, Hyundai has made great strides in regards to their overall features, interior, and beyond - making it a viable competitor in the car industry. This has caused automobile leaders (like Honda) to break a sweat.

Honda Gets It Right With New Clarity - Sort Of : Honda Car story review 2008
by GARKO
Honda’s new Clarity IS positively motion in the most optimum direction but others have already beaten it to the finish line. It is a saner pollution solution but there is an even better pollution solution. It is an historic milestone from a big player in the car making industry. And for all these positives which I will now share some information on, I applaud it!The mid-size Clarity is expected to (reportedly) return an EPA-confirmed sixty eight MPG. The Clarity also will ace federal safety standards, start in temperatures as low as 22 degrees below zero and survive trips out to Las Vegas (high heat). Refueling is ludicrous as it requires that you have a big and heavy natural gas powered home unit, which, as it runs on natural gas, seems to defeat the whole purpose or that you live near Santa Monica, Torrance or Irvine. For now. However, the per-tank range is 270 miles. The Clarity will be coming to a Honda dealer near you in Summer 2008 (provided that you live in or near one of those three cities), Honda will be happy to lease you a Clarity for “just” $600 a month. The FCX Clarity integrates Honda’s V Flow stack in combination with a new design smaller and powerful lithium ion battery and a single hydrogen storage tank to power the automobile’s electric drive engine. The main source of power is the fuel cell stack. Hydrogen mixes with oxygen from the atmosphere in the fuel cell stack, and energy from the reaction is transformed into electric power which then propels the vehicle. Another energy source is generated through the conservation of kinetic energy from slowing down and braking the vehicle (known as regenerative braking), and that is stored along with surplus energy from the fuel cell in the lithium ion battery pack, and supplements power from the fuel cell, when it is required. The only exhaust from this car is water. The distribution of the new Honda will be for starters only in Southern California. This is because they do not have sufficient hydrogen refueling stations set up yet in other areas which are sufficient for keeping the car running. These stations compare to gas stations, only they are specifically for use by vehicles powered by a fuel cell. Honda is advising potential buyers that they should not plan to drive the vehicle outside of Southern California. It’s a shame that only one hundred Clarity’s will be made available to drivers in the Los Angeles area. But I suppose for those one hundred drivers they will be in a position where the Jones’s ain’t gonna be able to keep up with them!So the question becomes… if you are not one of the fortunate few that a. resides in specific parts of Los Angeles b. have $600/month easily available c. can’t compute the numbers and realize that they will be paying two or three times as much for a car in order to save not more than about $100-200/month on gas. d. Don’t mind driving around with a hydrogen tank in your car. (In fact, mark my words, I am sad to have to look into my crystal ball and project that one of these Clarity vehicles will get involved in an accident that leaves a crater on some Los Angeles freeway and the thought of a hydrogen fueled automobile will be have a lable on it forever like a 1973 Pinto so that the idea will be abandoned). I usually rebuke cynicism but…Ok, so…then what do you do? Well there is a solution that you can install in any engine, even yours, at very minimal cost, using odds and end hardware store items and will make it so your current vehicle will do most of the things that the new Honda Clarity will do but with no inconvenience and without the risk of driving around with a hydrogen “bomb” (storage tank). You can acquire the information right now!If you are unindoctrinated, WATER4GAS is sharing information at a low price which consumers can use in their garage or wherever to put together a small device which infuses hydrogen into the fuel/air mixture that their car or truck runs on. The process makes smaller particles out of the ones that the engine burns as fuel. So the engine gets to use a lot more of the gas. By doing this you can reasonably expect to improve your gas mileage by 12%. But many are obtaining thirty to fifty percent improvement or significantly more. Those particles “musta” been pretty “blankin’” huge in some engines before. But with WATER4GAS they are made usable so you can improve your gas mileage. It also helps to lower emissions significantly. This information has been purchased by over NINE THOUSAND people already and happy members number about 99%! So how about you?

Repairing Your Hybrid Car : New honda CRV 2009
by Thomas Jones
You look around while your stopped at a traffic light and realize that your surrounded by hybrids. Then it hits you that hybrids really are the new wave of the coming future. Hybrids offer many features that the conventional car does not have. But no matter how advances hybrids are they are still expensive to purchase and repair, just like any other car. Some repairs and problems with a hybrid need to be done by a hybrid certified mechanic. Before you make the leap and buy a new hybrid you might want to take a look at two of the major repairs you might have to deal with after you make your purchase.Engine and Motor Repairs
Just like conventional cars hybrids also have a gasoline only internal combustion engine. During the life of your car there will probably be a point where your car will leak oil and will then be in need of repair. You might have a point where your hybrid’s motor will not babel to turn over or the connective system that runs your wiring could become loose and will need to be repairs. Because unlike the conventional car hybrids have both an electric motor and a gasoline engine the make up that lies under the hood of a hybrid is quite different from a conventional car. While a hybrid is great in so many ways a regular mechanic might not be qualified or have the ability to service your hybrids engine or motor.
The Battery Pack
If your used to driving a conventional car you know that they run on a lead acid battery. When it dies you can usually replace it easily yourself. You just have to purchase on at the local auto part store, purchase a new battery and replace it in only a few hours. Sometimes conventional car battery issues can even be solved by simply giving it a jump start. Hybrids on the other hand are not so simple to fix. The ability to hook your car up to another vehicle to get a jump is not an option for a hybrid. The hybrid does not come equipt with a place to hook the cars together and if you try to do so you will more than likely end up ruining both cars, permanently.
If the battery pack in a hybrid fails you only have two options to fix it. Both of these options involve a specially trained mechanic. You might only have one cell inside the hybrid battery pack that is malfunctioning or it could be the whole battery pack that is malfunctioning. If it is only one cell in your battery pack that will only cost you about $180. If it is the entire battery pack your look at a cost of about $4,000 or even more. It depends on the type of hybrid you own. It takes time for mechanics to become trained for all the new parts of technology that are coming into our world. Over the years things will change and there will be more mechanics available to hybrid cars. But for now the pool is quite limited.
