The Evolution Of The Honda Accord : New Honda Accord new car 2008 review
by Jim Harris
The first generation Honda Accord was launched in 1976 as a two-door hatchback with 68 horsepower (51 kW), a 93. Honda chose the name Accord, reflecting “Honda’s desire for accord and harmony between people, society and the automobile. It has achieved considerable success, especially in the USA, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for 15 years (1982-97), and became the first Japanese-branded vehicle to be manufactured in the US. The Accord became the first Japanese car to be produced in the US in 1982, when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Marysville Auto Plant where cars were produced and exported back to Japan. The Honda Accord has been sold in most automotive markets throughout the world. The European Honda Accord, also made in Sweden, became very different from its cousins in terms of styling, and was also shorter than the JDM and USDM Accords. The CarThe Accord was originally planned to be a V6-powered car with a long hood and sporty pretensions. Vastly improved quality control, however, made this one of the most reliable cars on the US market, a position it still holds today. This was one of the first US production cars to feature optic reflectors with completely clear lenses on the headlamps replacing the more conventional sealed beam styled lighting. A little-known fact about the 1998 Accord was that it was assembled in New Zealand at the very end of overall New Zealand CKD car production (due to changes in tariffs for car importation in that country). Now a vastly different car to the worldwide Accord, the North American model grew larger still, gaining more interior room and weight than its international counterpart. The American Accord was only available in sedan and coupe form, becoming the largest Accord to dateThe Next GenerationFor the first time, Honda offered an “enthusiast” version of the Accord in the US, adding a sports suspension and mating the 6-speed manual transmission from the Acura CL to the V6 Honda Accord Coupe. Modernizing both the interior and exterior, the second generation Accord was mechanically very similar to the original, using the same 75 hp (56 kW), 1751 cc EK1 CVCC engine. Honda introduced the Insight, America’s first hybrid vehicle still the fuel economy leader, in December 1999. Honda then took hybrid technology into the mainstream with the introduction of the Civic Hybrid in March 2002.The 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid, in only its second model year received a number of improvements including exterior updates to further differentiate the Accord Hybrid from other Accord Models. Honda presented to the world the exciting Accord Tourer Concept and the new generation of Honda diesel engines, i-DTEC at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show. In 2008 the Honda Accord was completely redesigned, boasting more power and passenger space. In real-world use, however, the car’s fuel economy was disappointing and people balked at its higher price. In ConclusionIn reviews, it has been found that the latest Honda Accord continues to excel as a family sedan or midsize coupe. Consumers interested in a Honda Accord but limited to a smaller budget could also check out the fourth-generation Accord, which was available starting in 1990. However, the Accord has matured into a larger car now approaching the likes of the Ford Taurus, but is still given “compact” status. Honda sold the North American Accord in a few other markets including Asian (now made in Thailand), Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Australian and New Zealand markets with mixed results. When examined from a holistic standpoint, it’s easy to see why this Honda car has become an automotive icon and one of our editors’ top recommendations.

Honda reconsiders Hybrids for 2008 Sales Growth : New honda hybrid cars 2009
by Anthony Fontanelle

Honda Motor Company, Ltd., the second largest automobile seller in Japan, is reconsidering an investment on hybrids and other technologies to cope up with the growing consumer demand for environmentally-friendly vehicles and keep up its sales momentum.
According to Honda President Takeo Fukui, his company has something unique to offer in gas-and-electric hybrids. He ignored the fact that its leading rival in the segment, Toyota, is working so well with the Prius (currently the best selling hybrid) these days.
In a recent speech, Fukui said, “The competition in hybrids has just begun.”
Fukui said that Honda will introduce a hybrid with an affordable price tag in 2009. The company’s target sales are set at 200,000 vehicles a year.
The Japanese company — which produces the Accord sedan and Civic compact — plans to boost its hybrid offerings in the coming years. Fukui said that the plan is part of pushing the company’s sales to about 10 percent higher by 2010.
Fukui mentioned that Honda expects a 6 percent increase in global sales this year at a record of 3.76 million vehicles, compared from 3.55 million units in 2006. Subsequently, he predicted sales growth to persist in 2008. He sees the solid customer demand in the U.S., Europe and Asia, including Japan, to where the company has been struggling. The auto maker is planning to introduce four new models in the said markets.
Earlier this year, Honda discontinued the production of the gas-and-electric version of its Accord sedan. The version was sold only in North America. Just about 25,000 units of it were sold since the company began the sale in 2004.
Toyota, on the other hand, sold approximately 900,000 units of the Prius worldwide since December of 1997. The popularity of the vehicle did not weaken for the past decade on sale.
Last year, the Prius covers more than 40 percent of hybrid sale in the U.S. Though it is far better selling than any other hybrids in the market, Toyota still offers several other hybrid models. That includes the hybrid Camry and hybrid Lexus models.
So far, Honda is still producing gas-and-electric models of its Civic sedan. But, the company is aware of its error in not offering a hybrid-only model such as the Prius. It somewhat regret the moment it did not realize that hybrids tend to be more popular with smaller models because mileage improvements tend to be more distinct.
Now, according to Fukui, Honda is considering an investment amounting to $424 million for a research center in Japan. It will be used to maintain its technological prowess through focusing on the production of next-generation cars, which includes hybrids and fuel cells. It will also focus on research for new technology intended for Honda’s Acura luxury brand models, which will be equipped with quality parts such as the Acura CL cargo liner (car-stuff.com/mmparts/acura-cl/cargo_liner.html) and other premium auto parts.
In 2009, the center is expected to be partially running. Then, by 2010, it will be fully opened.
Although Fukui declined to provide a price, he said that Honda’s hybrid system costs less than Toyota’s. This fact will allow Honda to offer its planned hybrid at a competitive and more affordable price.

The 9 ingredients to increase your Gas Mileage are:

*Install a water to energy converter to increase and boost the poor performance of Gas alone.

*Install a Gas warmer system to assist further vapour injectors.

*Replace the spark plug wires with ["kiker wires"] improves spark by creating a magnetic field.

*Don’t fill your tank at stations that ad 10% ethanol[called gasohol] Instead buy some Xylene and add it yourself for much better results and Gas Mileage.

*Replace your engine oil with a synthetic oil or similar low friction oil.

I have photos to prove it and I believe even higher numbers are possible. That means that for long stretches of road I’m using hardly any gasoline at all.

*Keep your tires fully up to pressure a harder tire rolls eaiser.

How you can get IRS refunds using water powered cars. First, in case you don’t previously know that it’s possible to power your car with water, this is to inform you that not only is it possible but you can actually make your car to run on water from the comfort of your home.Yes, you heard that right. You can put it all together yourself, with the right guide and the right devices.

The beauty of water powered car, apart from the fact that you can put it together yourself and apart from the fact that it helps you in saving the costs of fuel, is that you can actually get IRS refunds for doing so. By using such water powered car you are driving a “green” car and thus helping our National economy by reducing the costs that the government spends on pollution, hospitals, sick days.

And most importantly, you help to reduce our national debt for imported oil, not to mention the painful price of economic dependability on oil.Since 2005 the IRS could not afford to continue ignoring alternative fuel anymore, and started giving considerable rewards for “green” cars, “green” fuels and “green” upgrades.

You can get back up to $2,000 for a car, or up to $50,000 for a truck. Water4Gas is a simple, inexpensive method that anyone can construct to increase gas mileage up to 30% and more while cleaning the engine - it will even reduce pollution.

Check it out - you’ll be amazed how simple this can be!

Honda India weighs local production of CR-V : New Honda CRV new car review 2008
by Anthony Fontanelle
Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. (HSCI) — a joint venture between the Honda Motor Company Ltd., Japan and Siel Ltd., a Siddharth Shriram Group company is weighing the option of locally manufacturing the CR-V. The Honda CR-V is currently directly imported from Japan as a completely built unit and sold in the Indian market.According to Masahiro Takedagawa, president and CEO of HSCI, “We are studying the possibilities of producing the CR-V locally, which will help up become a far more active player in the growing SUV market.”At present, the Japanese auto maker is retailing an average of about 300 units of the CR-V every month. And, the vehicle has a landed price of around Rs 20 lakh, of which nearly half is accounted to import duty component.By the time Honda decided to manufacturer the CR-V in India, the target price for the vehicle will swoop down to Rs 12-14 lakh. That would mean better attraction from the customers.By fact, the CR-V is the leading player in the top-end SUV segment which include the Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero, Suzuki Vitara and a host of other models. Most of the models are actually imported directly — an advantage that Honda is weighing.Another point would be the translation into more numbers in local production. HSCI believes that there is potential to increase market share, most especially if the vehicle was able to build a solid brand image for itself in the specific market.Takedagawa said that the company is extremely bullish on its prospects in the overall automobile market. That is even while the current fiscal has a little to write home regarding issues in the premium car segment.Honda, more than a maker of Acura CL brake dust shields (car-stuff.com/mmparts/acura-cl/brake_dust_shields.html )and premium engines, hopes to close this fiscal with the production of approximately 68,000 units of the City, Civic and Accord.Previously, HSCI has announced its interest to manufacture more than 150,000 cars by 2010. The company sees the year as the time when annual car production in the country is expected to be in the region of about 2.5 million units.Takedagawa said that the Honda CR-V will boost the growth of the company for the future. He said, “Honda will strive to redefine the image of the hatchback with this model.”The Honda CR-V will be produced at the company’s second plant in Rajasthan — which will be commissioned by 2009.

The Facts About Hybrid Car Emissions and Global Warming : New Honda Hybrid cars review 2008

The Facts About Hybrid Car Emissions and Global Warming : New hybrid honda  cars review
by Alexandria Haber

In recent years, hybrid cars have become increasingly popular. With rising gas prices and greater environmental awareness, consumers are turning to alternative technology. Manufacturers are making significant efforts to design cars that will satisfy all of their customers’ demands: low fuel consumption, low cost, low noise pollution, state-of-the-art technology, and environmentally friendly. Enter the hybrid car - not only is it fuel efficient, but its emissions are much lower than conventional cars.
Hybrid TechnologyFar from being a new technology, hybrid technology has been in use for years in the making of locomotives, submarines, and buses. In a similar way, hybrid cars rely on a combination of two powers - electricity and fuel injection.
An idling or stopped hybrid car automatically uses electrical power. Once the car begins to accelerate, it reverts to using the fuel engine. Also most hybrids recharge the batteries automatically by converting the energy during braking. Different models of cars vary in terms of when the electric power is used. For example, the Honda Civic Hybrid uses electric power to assist the gas engine during acceleration or going up hills. Other models run on rechargeable electricity during city driving at low speed but run on gasoline when the car’s speed increases such as during highway driving.
Low EmissionHybrid cars emit far lower levels of pollutants in the air than conventional cars, resulting decreased pollution and reduced effects of global warming. Because no two people drive the same way, it is therefore difficult to estimate, but emissions can be reduced from 25% to 90%, when comparing hybrid cars to conventional gas-powered vehicles. Hybrid car emissions also vary depending on the type of car. Some manufacturers add hybrid technology to existing car models while other manufacturers completely redesign cars with low emission and efficiency at the core. In any case, lower toxic fumes are appreciated in our oil-based economies.
Hybrid vs. ElectricMany people associate hybrid cars with electric cars. However, the two are quite different. The hybrid does not need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to recharge. Gas motors switch on automatically when the battery gets low, and proceeds to charge the battery. Therefore, hybrid cars still use gas while electric cars do not.
A Green DesignFuel efficiency in hybrid cars stems from numerous improvements.
Improved aero dynamics
Lower body weight
Smaller, lighter, and less powerful gas enginesReducing weight, especially engine weight, will substantially improve a car’s mileage. Hybrid cars were essentially designed for use in the cities, where traffic is a daily occurrence, in order to reduce gas emissions and slow down global warming. What a great way to help save the environment and improve our overall quality of life.

Honda And Toyota Dominates South African Auto Market : New Honda 2009 review

Honda And Toyota Dominates South African Auto Market
by Anthony Fontanelle

Japanese automakers have been known for their reliable vehicles which have become the favorite of most consumers. This can be clearly seen in the United States auto market where market share of Japanese automakers continue to increase while the Big Three’s decline. This trend is not only seen in the United States though as according to J.D. Power and Associates, Honda and Toyota dominated the 2007 South Africa Customer Satisfaction Index.
According to The Auto Channel’s report, the two Japanese automakers received top ranks more than any other automaker. For Honda, the Civic, CR-V, FR-V, and the Jazz topped their respective segments. For Toyota, the Avensis, Hilux, the Land Cruiser Prado and the Tazz received the highest rating in their classes. The Customer Satisfaction Index is a study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates to gauge the level of satisfaction of customers regarding the vehicles that they have purchased.
According to The Auto Channel, J.D. Power and Associates, the study focuses on the first 10 to 21 months of ownership. Four factors covering 77 attributes are taken into consideration to gauge the satisfaction of customers. Of the four factors, the highest weight was given to the quality and reliability of vehicles which is given a weight of 32 percent. Aesthetics is second with a weight of 29 percent. Satisfaction of customers is also based on their experiences on the dealership which is given 19 percent. Last but not least is the cost of ownership which corresponds to 20 percent.
Brian Walters, the vice president of J.D. Power and Associates’ Europe, Middle East, and Africa Operations, said that Honda and Toyota are showing their dedication to building quality vehicles. “Honda and Toyota models continue their strong performance in satisfying customers in South Africa,” said Walters.
“In both 2006 and 2007, four Toyota models ranked highest in their respective segments, while Honda has led in nameplate rankings in both years. These results are a testament to the commitment to high quality that both brands demonstrate. In addition, Mercedes-Benz maintains its ranking in the top five for a second consecutive year and improves in an impressive manner since 2006,” he expressed.
“The consistent improvement in overall satisfaction in the South Africa market is good news for consumers, franchised dealers and manufacturers,” continued Walters. “However, there is still significant room for improvement. While customers seem to be more satisfied with vehicle quality and reliability as well as vehicle appeal, service satisfaction and ownership cost satisfaction levels are not on par.” Honda is also the manufacturer of Acura vehicles and auto parts such as Acura cargo liners. Hybrid Car Reviews - Doing Your Research Before Making A Purchase
 by Dean Forster

Fuel prices have continued to rise consistently since 2005 and they have now reached historic high peaks. What was considered a car with a moderate fuel consumption a few years ago can now be seen as a thirsty model. Clients are not looking for powerful cars anymore. Instead, they are looking for smart cars, cars that will provide them with an optimum fuel consumption while providing similar power. Car manufacturers have seen this trend in customer behavior and they have begun to offer more and more hybrid models to the market. Of course this means more hybrid car reviews from the journalists at the motoring magazines as demand increases. Hybrids are beginning to be seen more and more on the streets nowadays as they offer a brand new technology that allows for significant fuel savings. Together with hybrids, car makers are also looking for other technologies that will offer an even better economy: cars powered by methane gas are already on the market and full electric cars are close to being produced.Hybrid cars have several significant benefits compared to traditional cars. They have two types of engine: a gasoline or a diesel one and an electric motor. The gasoline engine is more powerful and it is used to drive the car outside of town and on highways. The electric engine combined with the batteries onboard are used to power the vehicle at slow speeds and across town. The hybrid helps you the most when driving across busy town centers and when idling on the highways, as only the electric motor is used and the car is virtually pollutant free. Most cars have the highest fuel consumption when driving in town (a large V-8 SUV can reach as low as 20 mpg around town) and hybrids are the solution for this problem. When the driver needs more power or goes beyond a certain speed (30 or 40 mph), the gasoline engine starts to deliver power. If you are using your hybrid car mostly around town, you will save significant amounts of money. This is especially useful considering that hybrid cars have slightly higher prices than gasoline cars. However, most car dealers will show you the benefits of the hybrid technology if you ask them and will show you several hybrid cars.

The Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic Hybrid are recommended if you use them around town. They are medium size cars that can carry up to five adults in complete comfort and safety. Their hybrid technology allows for a significant mileage that is unachievable by traditional gasoline powered cars. When they need more power, they will use the gasoline engine in combination with the electric one to offer you the best compromise between power and economy.

The Japanese carmakers were among the first to introduce hybrid cars on the market. Toyota, Lexus and Honda all have several hybrid models available and more to come. Reading about hybrid car reviews is recommended before you make your final decision of purchasing a new car as such a model can save you a lot of money. You will soon be able to buy hybrid SUVs as both American and Asian carmakers are finalizing their hybrid models and are preparing them for launch.
